Summer's OVER!!

Dang, summer went by way too fast. I love having my kids home, but it's nice to have them busy too. They looked too cute! I can't believe that I am old enough to have kids this old in school??? YIKES!!!

Bear Lake!!!

We went with Dan's family to Bear Lake!!!
The first weekend Josh and Cassie were there with their kids, and Grandma Becky. We spent lots of time at the beach, boated with Uncle Gary and Aunt Amber's boat, and hung out with their family. We had lots of fun!!!

The second weekend we went with Grandma Becky and went to dinner, Dan skiied Saturday morning, we watched Aunt Amber finish her 50 mile bike ride around Bear Lake!! What a woman!!!! That afternoon, we drug the kids through the Bear Lake Parade of Homes. They were so awesome. The best part was the Demolition Derby. The kids were so excited. They loved it. Amber saved us seats in the very front, middle of the arena so that we would get dirty!! We got really dirty!!!!!!!!

"Fart Start"

We have been watching the Olympics every night with the kids. The other night we were watching Track and Field and there was a "false start," by one of the runners. Bailey wanting to know more about what was happening, got tongue tied and asked what a "Fart Start" was instead of a "False Start." Kids say the darndest things!

Dan has been working 50-65 hour weeks the past few weeks. My kids are getting tired of it, so Bailey wanted to do a surprise for him. Friday night we surprised him with a little over night camping trip to Farmington Canyon. We stopped at the store for chicken and cereal for breakfast. Gourmet!! Then headed to the mountains. Our trip started out great! We were eating our chicken, and Dexter asks Dan, "Dad am I eating a chicken leg or arm?" Dan and I laugh and he tells him, "a leg." Five minutes later, he asks, "Is Bailey eating a leg or an arm?" Crazy kids! We ate our dinner, went on a drive and found some natural mountain lakes, and saw a moose.

We went back to our campground and Crystal and Jeff had come to make smores!! Crystal and Jeff left about 10:00, and we started getting the kids ready for bed. We were squished in our little cheapy tent, but we were having fun. The kids fell asleep fast, and about that time we started to hear....drip, drip. I kept thinking it was going to only sprinkle, but it began to get more intense. Dan and I were wondering if the tent was going to hold up. I had decided to try to go to sleep, and about that time, a loud thunder hit and rocked the whole mountain. Soon followed lightning strikes, and Dan sat up and said, "We're out of here!" So we grabbed the kids, put them in the car, grabbed blankets, sleeping bags, and pillows and didn't know what to do with the tent. By this time, the tent and both of us were completely saturated!! So we left it! We got home, spread out the wet bedding and crawled into our own beds. I felt bad for Bailey and told her we were sorry we had to go home. She said, "it's ok, we still get to eat cereal for breakfast!!" This was a lot of work for her only concern to be the cold cereal for breakfast! The next morning we got up ate our cold cereal and headed back for the soggy tent. What a crazy 12 hours!!!
