Cast, Church, Lagoon, Tai Pan, Free Food, 4's, Football, and a Race Track

***Since going private, I have neglected posting. I think I have been too busy trying to get everyone invited!! There are several things to catch up on.

***Jentri's cast came off, but she still had a limp for the following week! After many prayers, and a blessing, she is doing great! Dan's back is better. It started feeling better a few days before the big test. So, he hasn't been back to physical therapy. Hopefully it will stay that way. If he has problems again, Danny has graciously volunteered a physical therapist from one of his facilities that he and Dan play basketball with to help Dan. Hopefully he will only have to see Lincoln for basketball games. (Thanks Danny)

***We had the opportunity to clean the church one Saturday morning with our neighbors. It only took an hour and a half, but it was a great experience. The kids had a fun time, and really helped!
***We got to go to Lagoon on the last day of Frightmares. We went early enough that we walked on every ride, and only were there for 2 hours. That was superb! The kids had fun and atleast got to go to Frightmares once!

***I actually talked Dan into going to Tai Pan for a little while. We had only been there a few minutes when 3 of the 6 Briscoe brothers showed up!! It was fun to see them they had been forced into going by their wives. Yes, Dan had someone to talk to while I look around. He was a good sport!
***We had the opportunity to attend the adult session (thanks C & J) and the Sunday session of Stake Conference. It was awesome. Russel M. Nelson was the speaker of both sessions. He was so great to listen to. It was very sincere, and personal. We were inspired!
***Dexter learned how to land a front flip on the trampoline by himself!! Here is a picture of him in action!!

***Coupons, coupons, and more coupons. I have been clipping coupons and saving a ton of money. While saving money, I have also been able to work on our food storage. I have been able to get a lot of stuff really cheap, and in some cases, even FREE!! Yeah! (Thanks for the idea, of posting a picture Ange!)

***Last weekend, we went to Dan's cousin's football game in Woods Cross. They are from Bear Lake, and were here for a semi-final game. They lost, but it was fun to see all of them.
***Lots of 4's!!!! Bailey brought home her report card this week and it had a bunch of 4's, and one 3.75. For those of you that don't have school aged kids, the grading system is 1-4, 4 being the best! We were very proud of her. We also went to the parent meeting with Bailey and her teachers. She got to show off her Spanish skills! She knows a ton of Spanish and is an excellent student. She has awesome grades, is kind to her classmates, and her teachers adore her. We are very proud of her. I'm sure she gets it from her mom!!!
***How many of you have a race track in your formal living room? I DO~ Last year for Christmas, good 'ol Santa brought the kids an electric track. It is very cool, but is a pain to put up. It takes almost 2 hours to put it up. Therefore it has only been put up twice. Dan told the kids that they could leave it up for a few days. It is driving me crazy, but I just keep telling myself to close my eyes! The kids love it!

Going Private.....

Ok, after all of the warnings and weirdos out there, I have been trying to decide if I should go private. I read this article on ksl.com, and it has me a little worried. I don't want to take my pictures off, because that is the best part of blogging, being able to brag about my kids. So, read this article if you want, http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=148&sid=4699330 and send me an e-mail if you want to follow my blog. lindsay.snell@digis.net

Lost a tooth!

One of Bailey's top teeth became loose on Sunday night. She pushed and pulled with her tongue, and finger trying to loosen it all week. Finally by Friday night, her gums were purple, red, and starting to get swollen. It was hanging by one root. We finally told her it needed to come out. I told her I was going to look at it, but really I was trying to get a good hold of it and then took one good pull and it was out. She got mad at me and wanted me to stop. She didn't even know that I had pulled it out. When she saw the hole in her mouth, she started smiling and hasn't stopped yet!!!!

Trick Question??

When your sister asks what you are doing in two months for specific days, plead the 5th!!! Crystal and Jeff had the opportunity to go to Mexico for Jeff's continuing education, and asked Dan and I to babysit Easton and Adri. Of course we said yes!!

So, the fun began last Monday night, the same night that Uncle Bryan was here. The kids were great. They loved playing and having sleepovers everynight. We had them Tuesday and Wednesday, Crystal's neighbor's took them Thursday afternoon and evening, Angela and Danny took them Friday over night, and then to Lagoon on Saturday. We took them Saturday night to a neighborhood Halloween party, then to a temple fireside, and back to the party! It was crazy, because each party required different clothes. The Halloween party the kids were in costumes, the fireside they were in church clothes, and then back into costumes to finish the Halloween party!! After a long night, we finally had the kids in bed and about midnight Adri came out and said, "I throwed up!" Ahhhhh! We bathed her and cleaned her bedding. About 5:00am, Bailey came up and said that Dexter had thrown up in her room. Once again Dan and I bathed and started more laundry. We decied church was out of the question. Sunday afternoon, Bailey started throwing up and was sick until Monday night. Crystal and Jeff got home Monday night about midnight!! What a crazy week!!!

dinner and a shower???

Last monday, my uncle from Boise called me about 4:30 in the afternoon. He drives a flatbed truck for a trucking company out of Oregon and was in SLC for the evening. He told me he was at the Flying J and needed dinner and a shower and wasn't paying for either one of them!!! I laughed and told him he was in luck, because for some strange reason, I had cooked more enchiladas than usual. Dan graciously turned around and headed to the Flying J to pick him up. We had a great time. He ate dinner with us, played baseball with the kids, watched T.V. and then headed to bed. The next morning, Dan took him back to the Flying J and he went on his way. When the kids woke up, they were sad that Uncle Bryan had already left. We hope he comes through SLC more often!!!!

Wiggy-Waggies????

Ok, so the latest drama in the Snell household...
Number 1.
Dan helped my dad with concrete a week or so ago when we were in Pocatello, then went mountain biking, and then played basketball. I keep telling him he is getting old, but he refuses to admit it. Consequently, he hurt his back and has not been able to walk, talk, or make much sense of anything the past week. We took him to the doctor and they first said it was a slipped disc, then a slipped vertebrae, and now a bulging disc. Obviously, because of the pain he has been HIGHLY medicated. While medicated I had to leave him to run to the grocery store. I told him I was leaving and I would be back soon. He said, "Ok, Watch out for bugs!" I laughed and told him ok. When I got home, I told him I had watched our for bugs and he said, "Good, they'll get you everytime!" I said yes they will. He said, "Especially the big ones!" Laughing and provoking this "drugged" story, I said I couldn't remember the names of the big ones, and asked what they were. He very seriously said, "I think they are the Wiggy-Waggies, that is what I remember!" Moral of the story, Don't do DRUGS! and never give drugs to Dan!!

Number 2.
Jentri being the monkey that she is decided the same weekend we were in Pocatello to jump off of my mom's couch! She cried and held her foot, but I couldn't see anything wrong. Two days later, she was still complaining of her foot, wouldn't walk on it, and would not put full body weight on it. So, I took her to the doctor. They x-rayed it and said they could not see a break. But, since she was still favoring it, they decided to cast it. Lovely, Jentri is in a cast and Dan can't walk!!
The luck of the Dan Snell household!!!!!!!

Birthday Parties

I forgot about birthdays! Adri's birthday was the 18th! She had a cute "Hawaiian" cake with the ocean and flip flops on it. She was very excited to get her present, a trampoline!

Dan's birthday was the 27th. We had dinner and cake and ice cream at his mom's house, with my parents on the 21st. Then on Friday, Kate was here (Thanks Kate)so she watched the kids while we went to dinner at the Olive Garden (thanks Ang and Danny). Then we walked around the mall for a while, and were going to go to a movie. We decided there was nothing on that we wanted to see, so we decided to go to Lagoon and ride the rides. We called Kate and had her put jackets outside for us, so the kids would not see us. We drove by the house grabbed jackets, and then headed for Lagoon. We got to the gates and realized that Lagoon was closed!!! Dang It! So, we headed back to the movies. We watched Hancock, it was a little weird, but I had a great time! Happy 28th Birthday Dan!!! :) (That is how old he told everybody he was)

I love this guy!!!!

September

So much has happened since my last post. Soccer, Dan started class, "This is the Place, Heritage Park," Kate visiting, Grandpa McKee turned 80, and play play play. Where do I begin? Maybe I should post a little more often!!!

Dan has to take an 8 hour test in October to become an official "Professional Engineer." He has started a class to refresh himself with school since it has been 3 years. Of course this class is Tuesday and Thursday nights, the same nights of Bailey and Dexter's soccer games. So, our Tuesday and Thursday nights are crazy, along with my volleyball games that started on Wednesdays. Bailey loves playing defense, and is soooo fast!! Dexter loves to score his average is atleast 4 or 5 goals a game!! They are awesome!!!

Dexter had a field trip to "This is the Place, Heritage Park," where he learned how to card wool, wash clothes by hand, and play with the animals. Aunt Kate was here, so we took her with us. It was a fun place to visit.

Grandpa McKee turned 80 this month, so we got to go to his party. It was a lot of fun. We saw lots of McKee cousins, aunts and uncles, and friends of the McKee family. It was a fun and crazy day. Great job to all those who organized it!! Grandpa looked happy!!!

Camping in the Snow?? What the heck?

We went camping over Labor Day Weekend to Georgetown. Saturday was sooo much fun. We went to Bear Lake and played on the beach. We played beach football with all the couples. I'm pretty sure the Snells' and the Frasures' won! The guys worked on the cabin and put up the walls, and started the roof. Sunday was Crystal's birthday. My cousin Kali and G & G Irish came up for the afternoon. It started raining and the wind started to blow. Grandpa Delmar about got blown away with the rain canopy. It rained and rained and rained. We ate dinner in the rain, we cooked Crystal's pumpkin dessert in the rain, and we went to bed with it raining. It rained most of the night, and in the morning we woke up to it snowing. YES, SNOWING!!! We decided to pack up and get the heck out of there. The guys cleaned up camp in the snow, and then as we were leaving, the sun came out and it looked like it was going to be a nice day? It figures!!
