November 2009

NOVEMBER
November 4th we stole Nana from Angela, took Bailey and Dexter out of school to go to the Ultra Sound. Dexter and Jentri had an on-going fight! He wanted a boy, and she wanted a girl! The ultra sound tech announced it was a girl! Jentri yelled with excitement, Dex got really quiet and was very sad! Later when we called Dan to tell him the news, Dexter burst into tears crying and sobbed uncontrollably. He wanted a BOY!!! But after much talking and coercing, he's excited for our baby girl! A few weeks ago, I talked Crystal into taking my kids pictures. These are a few of them! She should really consider photography! Last weekend Luke, Bonnie, their girls, Josh, and his kids, came to watch Hayden's State Champtionship Football game. Friday night we went to dinner at Mobettah's, then Bonnie and I left the guys with the kids and went shopping! We left around 8 pm and didn't get home until midnight! We had a blast! She got all of her Christmas shopping done for her girls, and decorations for her Christmas tree! We got up Saturday morning and drove to Cabellas for the guys to shop and then were headed to the football game when the snow storm hit!!!! It was blowing and snowing very hard! We decided to go to lunch and see if the storm would pass. It did a little, so we went at half time. We were huddled up with hats, coats, gloves, and lots of blankets!!! After the game we went to Easton's birthday party. The kids played games, and then decorated gingerbread houses!

Ummmmm....Where to start????

Ok, so it's been a really long time since I have posted anything on my blog. I have no good excuses, only really lame ones that I will try to use!!!!

So the last post was in April, I will try to recap our last several months at the Snell household!

APRIL
April and May were CRAZY!!! Bailey and Dexter both did soccer and baseball/T-ball.

We had 6-7 games a week! Sometimes 2 or 3 a night! I was a nuts to think we could do all of it, but how do you make them choose? They are just at the time of their lives when they are deciding what they want to do. So it was CRAZY!!
MAY
In May, Aunt Ambie came home!!! We went to the report in Pocatello, and also had family pictures. Dan and Dexter went to the Father/Son camp out at Pineview with Uncle Jeff & Easton, and Uncle Danny and McCoy. They had fun but froze! We also went camping for Memorial Day in Georgetown. We had a very eventful weekend. This was the weekend that we took Adam and Ashlee's shed up to Papa. Yes, that house looking thing was on the freeway and the back roads all the way up to Georgetown. Then papa's trailer was full of all kinds of stuff. An aluminum pool, wood swing, etc. That weekend it rained and rained and rained!! We ended up in the cabin watching movies most of the weekend! Always lots of fun when we get to camping in Georgetown.

JUNE
June was full of events. Mine and Jentri's birthday, which we celebrated in Pocatello, and here in

Utah. Bailey finished 1st grade, and Dexter finished preschool! Then, I had the typical breakdown when I had to send Jentri to Pocatello, so that we could go to Lake Powell. She had a blast and has a great relationship with Nana and Papa because of it, but it's hard to ship your child off, even if it's for their own safety! We had a great time with Dan's family in Powell.

Even though we ran into a few problems... One engine on the houseboat, the generator worked part of the time and then would overheat, and then the sewer backed up. It was quite the adventure, but we had a blast. The kids were great and loved every minute. They tried to ski, and we did lot of surfing and hanging out. Dan of course skied every morning and is an awesome skier. Someday, I want to get him a boat!!! (Don't tell him that) We came home from Powell and I only had a few days to re-train for the Wasatch Back/Ragnar Relay Race that I signed up for. Our team was a few other women from our ward, my sister Crystal, and a few other friends' family members. We had a great time!!! It was a fun time, running, eating, running to the "honey buckets (outhouses)" sleeping on a high school gym floor, running in the rain and mud. We had a great time, and I hope to be able to run it again! The end of June I had the opportunity to go to girls' camp for a few days before heading to Georgetown for the 4th. We played team games, floated the dirtiest river I have ever been in, went on a really steep hike, and listened to T-minus 5 perform. It was lots of fun! I did earn a nickname, "Sergeant Snell" which those who know me well aren't surprised! Let's just say I helped keep the girls in line!!!
JULY
July 4th we spent in Georgetown, 4-wheeling, water skiing in Soda Springs, working on the cabin, and our yearly tradition of ice cream in Montpelier while watching the fireworks!!! The

following week Dan and the kids tore out our kitchen/dining floor. We had vinyl in the kitchen and carpet under the dining table. It was a huge mess. We had to take out the sub-floor that had tons of staples and nails in it. The poor kids and I spent hours on our hands and knees! Dan worked hard putting down the dura-rock and then finally we started to tile. Crystal and Jeff came over and helped. It took several weeks to complete the tile, then grouting, then putting things back together and then he tiled the back splash in kitchen!!! It looks awesome!! It's so much better then the dang carpet and vinyl. In between the kitchen project, we went to Georgetown again for the 24th of July. This time our friends Adam and Ashlee went with us. We skiied in Soda again, and had so much fun. Uncle Shane rented a water trampoline that we all had fun on, including the brother-in-laws who had several wrestling matches on! We were only going to stay at the water for a couple of hours, but it turned in to an all day event. We went back to the mountains and had fun 4-wheeling and getting dirty. The kids were covered after a ride with the dads!!!
AUGUST
August didn't slow down. I had pneumonia, which was also when Dan and I found out we were expecting. It was a hard month being pregnant, sick and not being able to tell everyone why I felt so crappy! The kids all got to go to Pocatello for Nana and Papa weekend. They went to a play at Mystique, went to lunch, shopping, and then went to Georgetown with out parents! The kids look forward to Nana/Papa weekend and love speding time with them! We had a friend visit from Pocatello that was staying in the Lagoon RV Park, my uncle and aunt from Boise came to visit and we spent a few hours in Park City shopping. The last little trip before school started was to Bear Lake to go skiing, and to go to the Rich County Demolition Derby!!!

Aunt Amber always gets us front row seats to make sure that we get nice and dirty! And did we ever! We were covered in dirt, and several of us took a few rocks to the face. It was a fun trip. We also did soccer for all three kids this fall. Jentri was Tuesday nights, Dexter was on Wednesday nights, and Bailey was Thursday nigts!!

School started way to soon! August 24th, Bailey started 2nd grade, Dexter started Kindergarten, and then on the 25th Jentri started Preschool!!! Yes, all three are in school!!! I have a few hours to myself 2 days a week!! Jentri also started dance, and Bailey is still in tumbling!

SEPTEMBER
The first of September we had our last camping trip of the season, Labor Day weekend. There was no skiing this time, we had very cold weather. But, had lots of fun helping with the cabin. Dan ran a ditch witch to help run pipe from the water tank that we had installed the week before, to the cabin. We also went on a 4-wheeler ride and ran into some cowboys. They let the kids ride their horse for a few minutes. Bailey and Dexter loved it, Jentri, not so much!!!

We went on an awesome 4-wheeler ride and saw moose and deer. Then my mom's 4-wheeler battery died. Dan had to gun it all the way down the road in the dark with no lights while my dad was trying to keep up!!! We also decided (I decided) to tell everyone that we were pregnant. We took a picture of the ultrasound picture and handed it to Bailey. She didn't have a clue what it was, and then asked Nana for help!! She knew what it was and started cheering, and then we had to tell Bailey, Dexter and Jentri what the picture was. We once again had a great weekend in Georgetown and went home to tell the rest of the family of our good news!!! Oh, yeah I had pneumonia again in September!!! YUCK!!! Dan left on the 18th of September to go on a "Brothers" hunting trip. They left Thursday night, and I didn't hear from him until Sunday night when they were headed home, with a successful hunt. That was a hard 4 days. I don't remember the last time we went that long without talking. I'm sure it's a time when he did something that made me mad and we were fighting!!! They hiked their bums off, had a lot of laughs, and had a great time!!! Unfortunately, I think they started a new tradition!!!! The end of September we celebrated Dan's birthday!!! He's claims he's only 28, but he's really 33 this year!!!
OCTOBER
October 1st and 2nd the kids didn't have school for Fall Break. My parents came down and we spent time with them, went on a picnic in the mountains,

went to the Sky Box in SLC for dinner, and then listened to General Conference. The guys all went to Priesthood session with my dad and uncle Bryan, and then came home for dinner and dessert. October 9th and 10th my mom and Mallory came down and picked Crystal, Angela and I up and we went to Park City. My mom got a motel for us to stay at. We ate dinner at a Mexican Restaurant, then got up and hit the Outlet Mall. We did lots of shopping and had a fun time together. One last getaway before we are tied up with new babies!! October 16th and 17th Dan's mom and sister's came to hang out. We ate dinner Friday night from MoBettah's and then ordered Pizza on Saturday and watched movies. Jentri was sick so it was a fun weekend of hanging out and and staying home. The next weekend was busy also. Dan took the PE Exam, which is an 8 hour test that he has been studying for in the middle of all other things going on in our lives. Friday night Josh came down and we went to Dan's cousin Hayden's highs school football game. Then Dan's other cousin Jordon and his wife Skye stayed at our house. Saturday was a day of longboarding! They went to the top of Farmington pond, and before Dan could do anything Dexter was offf!!!!! Down the blacktop, where he got the speed wobbles, and then crashed and he landed on his face!!!!! Despite a big road rash gash on his chin, a bump on his
head, and nose, he survived!!! Dan helped him off, and then cleaned him up at the fish cleaning station!!! Disgusting!!!!! That night we went to Dan's cousin Cassidy's Volleyball game!!! CrAzY Weekend!!

Halloween weekend was also crazy! Bailey started Junior Jazz and had tickets to the Jazz game Friday night. So Dan and Bailey, Uncle Jeff and Easton went to dinner and the Jazz game. The rest of us went to dinner without them. Saturday we painted Bailey's hair pink for "Lava Girl" and carved pumpkins. We ate pizza with Adam and Ashlee, and then went trick-or-treating with them. Bailey was pink from head to toe for "Lava Girl," Dexter was a ninja, and Jentri was Tinkerbell!

That night we went to see Nana and Papa at Angela's and went to a Haunted House!! The kids were a little scared, and Dan and I laughed our head off at them!!! Bailey kept yelling at the scary people, "Please don't scare me!" Wimps!!!! The next day my parents were here for Angela, because they induced her to have Emmett!!!
